FOREIGN RELATIVES OF A COSTA RICAN CITIZEN: Permanent residency can be applied for if you have first-degree family members such as parents, siblings, children who are citizens of Costa Rica. Spouses of a Costa Rican citizen or residency can also apply, although they will be approved for a temporary residency.

STUDENT VISAS: A temporary visa will be granted to individuals that can demonstrate they will be attending School, College or University in Costa Rica.

TEMPORARY WORK VISAS: Foreigners with special abilities not found in the Costarrican work market can apply for a temporary visa to perform their trade or occupation that is demonstrated to be needed in the country.

MISSIONARY RESIDENCY : Ministers of religious organizations that are sponsored by their church in their country of origin and have a sponsor church in Costa Rica that will be benefiting from this persons work, can apply for this type of residency for him and his family.
