- The applicant should demonstrate that he or she will receive income from an investment such as a certificate of deposit or annuity of at least US$ 2,500 per month for the whole family group for the next 2 years. - - A deposit of USD $60,000 in a Costa Rican bank will meet the residency requirement. The rentista applicant (and their dependents) cannot work and/or earn a salary in Costa Rica. However, they can, administrate their own investments/business.
